Additional information

Research area

My research background is in Geoscience and Risk, focusing on environmental reconstruction, landscape change and natural hazards. I have conducted research into glacio-volcanic jökulhlaup (glacial outburst floods) in Iceland; earthquake and volcanic risk in New Zealand, and coastal flood risk in UK. More recently I work in Climate Risk and teach in the Risk Analysis & Management (Bachelor) and Quantitative Policy Analysis and Modeling (QPAM) (Master) courses at ETH Zurich. I have over a decade's experience working in sustainable coastal and marine management in UK.

Projects (ETH Zurich)

- Climate Policy Group: H2020 ESPREssO Project, (Enhancing Synergies for Disaster Prevention in the European Union) building synergies between Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) sectors across Europe; publications

- Coordination of Sentinel Project (Sustainable Energy Transitions Laboratory) developing energy modeling decision support for the clean energy EU transition;

- Center for Climate Systems Modeling (C2SM): Coordination of Klima CH2025 Project on behalf of ETH Zurich, alongside MeteoSwiss- updating the Swiss Climate Scenarios (building on its previous iteration as the CH2018 Project).
