Aerosol-Cloud Interactions old
Aerosol-cloud interactions comprise the largest uncertainty of the anthropogenic radiative forcing since pre-industrial times (IPCC, 2013). How clouds respond to global warming is another major uncertainty. We use regional and global climate models to better understand the underlying processes and better quantify aerosol-cloud interactions and feedbacks in past, present and future climates.
Next to investigating ice nucleation in mixed-phase and cirrus clouds, we work on the following topics:
Global modelling of aerosol-cloud interactions in boundary layer clouds (David Neubauer)
Global modelling of Arctic sea-ice cloud feedback (Katty Huang, Anina Gilgen)
