Regional Modelling on Mixed-phase Clouds

We are modeling mixed-phase clouds (MPCs) with the small scale model COSMO on the kilometer scale. As our measurements at Jungfraujoch show a frequent occurrence of those clouds the model domain is located around this orographic complex region.
The orography determines the vertical velocities and enables to investigate the interaction of updrafts and the longevity of MPCs in real case studies. Another target of a comprehensive modell study will be to curve out the influence of aerosol concentration on MPC in such a dynamically driven region.
