Research area

Mannie's research focuses on natural disaster displacement for her doctoral studies. She works closely with Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (iDMC) in Geneva, Switzerland. Currently looking at the potential of building an early-TC displacement warning system in CLIMADA.

Mannie started her doctoral studies in the Weather and Climate Risks group since October 2020. 

She completed her MSc degree in Atmospheric and Climate Science at ETH Zurich, with a dissertation on Impacts of Model Drift on Simulated Climate Change  from the Climate Physics group. Prior to the master's studies, she finished a BSc (with honor) in Earth System Science with a focus on atmospheric and climate dynamics in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She also spent 1 year working in the Hong Kong Observatory as a placement student in 2014.

 

She is enthusiastic about sailing, sailed competatively and a qualified instructor back in Hong Kong.
